Nestled near the heart of Kansas City, our award-winning venue boasts a rich history dating back to 1872. Officially acquired in 2016 by owner Paula Owens and converted to a premium wedding and event space, 1890 continues to set a high bar with its historic beauty and relaxing ambiance. Today, the entire property has been converted to specialize in hosting events, namely weddings, featuring two separate indoor and outdoor event venues, an elegant ballroom, a reception hall, a covered cocktail barn and a host of other featured amenities. OMG! I love 1890 Event Space! As a Wedding Officiant I have seen so many Wedding Venues, but 1890 Event Space is one of my all time favorite outdoor venue spaces! As soon as you pull onto the property you just feel warm and cozy! There is a sense of magic in the air. I love the owner Paula, she is the best! I recommend them without hesitation.

Grace and Paula were wonderful and took care of literally everything. Our entire wedding party was able to have our rehearsal dinner on property the night before.
